A teacher union has registered its deepest displeasure against the growing tendency of double deductions towards teacher union contributions by two or more unions.

Several teachers in Kafue and Lusaka districts have complained of having double deductions by two or more unions from their salaries.

UNITUZ president Chipimo Paul laments that the unfortunate trend is depriving teachers of their hard earned income and that double deductions frustrate teachers and cause anger against the labour movement.

Mr Chipimo has since appealed to all end –users across the country to end the illegal practice, saying that a teacher should only belong and contribute to only one union of ones choice.

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.”
